Just a reminder that while hops are pretty resilient, we are likely to get a hard frost each night from now until Monday. I'm going to be covering them with tupperware once the rain is over (lets sun in, keeps frost out)

my solution is to grow them indoors until late May when the frost warnings are over. However, my magnum is almost 4 feet tall already! They might take over my apartment before the end of the month.

Easy for you  to say.  You really know where your towel is...

Well, im going to risk putting my hops outside already. They are almost 7' tall now and are running out of room to grow.

Looking at the long-range forecast, I think you'll be safe after Tuesday.  The over-night lows are supposed to be well above zero for the next 2 weeks.

Kyle

They seem to tolerate a mild frost. 7'. eh? wow. Mine (in ground) have yet to cross the 1' point.

Lesson learned, leave hops inside al long as possible. After the zero degree night on Saturday, and the strong wind yesterday my hops are pretty beat. Although one plant was 7' high, it was pretty spindly and took a real beating from the weather. It doesn't look too healthy right now.
