Title: Oxy Clean
Post by: ECH on August 24, 2014, 12:58:27 AM
Any issue using Oxy Clean for cleaning carboys out?

Having a particularly difficult time with one getting it clean. One with the ribs on it, thought it was only on the outside of the glass, and smooth inside, but apparently not as the dried on krausen seems to have congregated into those little recesses.

Obviously rinse well after using the Oxy, but any other things I should be concerned about?

I use it all the time on my carboys, no issues.  I try to use hot water if I can.  Use the unscented stuff if you can find it.

I use it all the time too, works great.

Chris- ever find any unscented stuff around? I haven't seen it, but have heard of it before.

Used some today when I cleaned the brew pot after cooking a batch. Pot is like new now!

Pretty sure my wife buys it in the US, while I don't think it is the unscented variety, it doesn't have much of a smell to start with.

I think I've seen it at the super store.
