Carbonation
« on: January 29, 2012, 11:01:13 AM »
What technique do you use for force carbonation?  High psi for a few days, say 30 psi for 2 days, or, do you follow the chart according to the style of beer and carb at a lower pressure for a longer duration?

I am planning on following the cart and letting it carb for 7 days.

I carb at 30psi for 2 days, then set to serving pressure.  I found that my beer still needed 2 or 3 days at serving pressure before it was just right.

7 days at serving pressure may not be enough.  I've read in a few places that you'll need at least 2 weeks, possibly more.

You can also carb with corn sugar, charge with about 5psi, and let it sit for 2-3 weeks at room temperature. I plan to do that once my keezer is full.
