Merry Christmas everyone.

Anyone get anything homebrew related for Christmas?

Santa was good to me this year, new brix refractometer (now I have to learn brix!), Fast Ferment w/stand, and an OBK $75GC, and various ANBL gift cards.

Someone got spoiled! I got a subscription to BYO and beer smith.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy Holidays all!

I must have been good this year, Santa got me a "Last Straw" bottle filler, maple tree taps/lines to collect sap this spring, and a thermoworks digital thermometer

My wife made me an insulating jacket for my BIAB setup, and had a local guy make a mash paddle. I'd say I'm pretty lucky! Now to figure out whether to oil the paddle or not...

I wouldn't oil the paddle if I were you. I imagine the hot wort would just draw out the oil anyways and the added oil in your mash could affect your head retention or go rancid or something. Whatever you put on it will end up in the finished neer. After I made mine I contemplated oiling it but after using it for a couple years it still looks and works perfectly.

Paddle away!

I agree with Roger. Leave it as is. I did for mine and it's been just fine. Anything you put on that will eventually leach into the beer.
