I thought your last IPA was the last for a while?  I don't blame you though, your recipe is delicious!

So you're just using 1lb of carafa special III instead if 0.5 of II and III each?  This for simplicity sake?   And down 1 oz of bittering hops?  I'm surprised!

I guess I should add that I'm comparing your V1 recipe to this one.

This one ups the magnum a bit as the first one actually was 3oz rather than 2... my bad (I remembered that I threw another oz in at the last minute).

The only real change here is the split of Carafa Special into II and III rather than just III; I figured since I had both I'd try a blend to see if it would add anything.

And I'm making another IPA 'cause I ran out of IPA - I should add that I have a Scottish 70/-, Steam Beer, and Saison on the go - so I'm not exactly sleeping at the style wheel here ;)

ok, I must be cross eyed...I put both recipes up and got them mixed up...I should have clued into the original recipe seeing as though I've brewed it.

Just normal - I liked the way it turned out doing it that way, so not looking to screw with the formula ;)

Man this is quite a bit different from the original one... pretty sure it's all down to the split of the carafa special into 2/3 rather than just 3. Tastes a lot richer, but still with all the bitterness and hop flavour/aroma. I'd say it'd be tough to call which is better, suspect it's a matter of taste.

So the first pint off the keg wasn't representative of the true profile; this one is definitely an improvement on the original. Will be keeping this on tap indefinitely now.
