I'm not sure, but both White Labs and Wyeast have a "Chimay strain"... and a Rochefort strain, Westmalle strain...

I have no idea about the legalities of all this... I mean, when Chimay says they have their own strain, this would be a strain that has been specifically targeted and grown over God knows how many generations over the decades, so it'd be different from White Labs or Wyeast, even if they HAD sold it to them at some point. But, from what I've read, you're much more likely to be closer to a Chimay beer using the Wyeast or White Labs "equivalent", compared to a lot of the other strains out there.

I honestly cant say if this recipe will match but based on the color produced it looks about right looking at a glass of Chimay Red but who knows only brewed one belgian and it was a dumper damn 40c weather
