MacGyvering again...
I have been inspired by the success of my RB's Hoppy Porter II that's cask conditioning right now, moved it to a keg after 8 days, it's been slowly building up pressure on it's own, which I've been relieving the best way possible...through the serving tap.
I'm keen to be able to do this with some accuracy, soooo....
I'm working on a few spunding valves so that I can cask condition at a specific pressure, then eventually get into fermenting under pressure in a Corny.
I'm using this as a guideline...
http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f163/my-first-spunding-valve-231048/

with the following exceptions...

1/4" ffl to 1/4" mpt $6.95 --- Eliminated by using oetiker clamps, a barb to 1/4" mpt that cost less than a buck and using the usual disconnect ffl to barb at other end.
1/4" fpt to 1/4" fpt $1.99 --- Also eliminated with above mod.
Wye Splitter $7.50 --- Using A Tee from HD, $4.25
Pressure Gauge $7.95 --- Using a 0-100, mostly because I can get them in town for less than $2
Pressure Relief Valve $16.56 --- The only problem I've encountered.

I've got the rest built, just waiting on a PRV, not available anywhere I've tried in town, the only lead I had was 3x the price and not stainless inside.

Which leads me to the obvious question, anyone else want to build some of these??
I'm ordering in 4 of the PRV's for myself, and the shipping on #1 was $6 and change, while the subesquent ones have been less than a buck.

I'm seeing whether or not this will be worth the 48 hour expedition again, or if it will be a quick dash and pay the duties, so you'd have to be prepared to pay about $20 all in for one if you want it.

Let me know if you want one before tomorrow night if you can, if so I'm planning on picking up on the 29th.
