I'm organizing a bachelor party weekend to Halifax in April.  Where are the best places to get good craft beer?  I've been told the Stubborn Goat is a good one.  Anything else?

Malcolm's Plum has a huge craft beer selection and every night they have a great sale on a different brewery.

Awesome! I am pretty sure I'm going to attend the Garrison competition gala. So want to try and hit a few pubs while in town.

That's the Maxwell's Plum.

A quick stop to "premier wine and spirits" will give you some good craft beers to drink back at the hotel room.

Im organizing a bachelor party, likely in Halifax, in March... tough time of year to plan for one of these!

Unfortunately the crowd im heading down with is pretty well all BMC'ers ... so i think were heading to the keiths brewery for a tour then food and drinks in some private room followed by many more drinks somewhere else

That's too bad.  I was looking forward to this.

Yup, it appears to be true. :(

Public Message:

We have valued and appreciated your patronage for 5 years, however we have made the difficult, and necessary decision to close Hart & Thistle Gastropub & Brewery effective February 19, 2014.

As long time supporters of local and independent business, we will continue to cheer on the city of Halifax and fellow members of the food service industry from the sidelines.

Many reasons have lead us to this decision, however with the bulk of our business occurring inside the short summer season, coupled with large growth of independent restaurants in greater HRM, we ultimately noticed an impact to our bottom line that we could not overcome.

Much gratitude is extended to our dedicated management and crew, along with our family of suppliers.

Sincerely
Bruce Keith

Yeah, rough deal for all. If you want a taste of their beers, head to Rockbottom. Greg Nash is the brewer at both pubs.
