OK, new mill. No, not going all grain yet, but just something to help along with steeping grains and partial mashes.

How does this look to everyone?

Trying to compare to what others say online, but everyone has their own opinion.

This is at the coarsest setting (and even then I had to modify the adjuster a little bit), husk, cracked grains, and a bit of flour, looks good to me, just wanted some other opinions.

Not seeing an image....

It appears for me... the grind looks good. Could be finer for efficiency, but for steeping grains that's likely going to be great!

Seriously though, like Two wheeler said, good for steeping, could be a little finer for AG.

Finer? OK, I was getting a bit finer than that prior to modifying the adjuster, which comparing to some other photos and opinions looked too fine (more flour). Just means I don't have to be right on the edge of the coarsest crush, as at times the adjuster was barely hanging on to the threads.

This is the one I got:

Nothing fancy, but good enough for 0-5lbs of grain I think. Went through 4oz of grain pretty quickly. Not that it would stop me from trying to motorize it with a drill! LOL

Some photos I have seen of some that call it the "perfect crush" the inner portion was barely cracked (maybe just in 2) but separate from the hulls at least. Obviously not very efficient that way.

First brew of the season this weekend, and doing my first mini-mash, 6 Row, with Vienna, Wheat and Oats, wanted to make sure the grind was right to get the most goodness out of it.
