After talking to Fhilo at the Fredericton Craft Beer Festival I decided it was time to sign up. I've been a big craft beer supporter for a number of years now, and have lived in various places in New Brunswick, so it just makes sense for me to be here. I've done several kits and a few 1 Gallon All-grain recipes, but I less of a brewer and more of a taster. Anyway, just thought I'd touch base and try to connect with some other NB beer lovers. Cheers!

Oh, also, I heard there was a general meeting in April. Explain?

Welcome!

This club has a couple of tiers. There's the dues-paid membership, and then the general forum membership. The club has an elected board of directors that manage finances, and the general direction of the club.

Every year in April, we have our AGM (Annual General Meeting).  This is when elections take place to fill vacant board seats.  We also disclose the club's finances, and share goals for the upcoming year.

This year, we've decided to combine it with a competition and a Mash Occur (our take on a big club brew day).

Meetings are generally for dues-paid members, but we encourage newcomers to check them out to get a better feel for how things work.  If you're interested in attending one (they are held every other Saturday), let me know. I'll send you the details.

You can read more about membership benefits here: http://nbcba.org/forum/general/membership-fee-payment-and-benefits-of-joining-the-nbcba/

Give a man a beer and he'll waste an hour, teach him how to brew beer and he'll waste a lifetime.

Hey, thanks everyone, it's nice to be welcomed! And sure, Chris, let me know more about the bi-weekly meetings. I can't promise that I'll get to one for a little while (have a couple beer road trips planned for the next few weekends), but I'm still interested.
