What do you guys use or recommend on the cheap side for fermenting 10-15 gallons batches?  Conical are awesome but out of my league (for now).  I'm thinking using a demijon but I'd rather use a bucket that's easily cleanable or something like that.

Suggestions?

Know anybody at the McCain plant Jamie? You might be able to score some of those blue HDPE barrels that pizza sauce comes in.

Hey Jamie.

I bought three 58 litre plastic buckets from some guy out Hanwell Road. He sells bulk car wash to a couple of the gas stations. I think I paid him like 10 bucks a piece and they work very well. You can pretty easily squeeze 12 gallons or so in one of them.

I'll take a look to see if I can find his information. I know where he lives from when I picked them up so you could always just go knock on his door worst case scenario lol

I bought one of those blue barrels off the side of the road a few years back on the way back to Fredericton from Macadam.  $15 or so.  I still see them for sale really cheap every once in a while.  I originally bought it for canoeing but lately it has been sitting empty behind my shed.  After reading this post, I think it will get cleaned up and use it to store some grain.  Great idea DandyMason.
