Title: Rhizome exchange
Post by: Tony L on February 13, 2011, 07:05:09 AM
Soon time to be thinking about exchanging or selling rhizomes to those who want them from those who have them.

Plan... I personally would be on the lookout for EKG (must be "real"), Fuggles or SG, Cascade, Challenger, Chinook, and Columbus.

I unfortunately cannot exchange, but I will pay the going rate.

can't exchange either, but will pay going rate for Cascade and Simcoe, and maybe others.

I think orders are closed for most places this year, but check out: http://leftfieldstore.crannogales.com/catalogue.html (http://leftfieldstore.crannogales.com/catalogue.html)

Apparently if you follow them on Facebook they'll announce if they have anything left over after filling their existing order quota.

I might try this site www.richters.com (http://www.richters.com)  what hops grow best in this area?

Well I just placed an order. I had to buy at least 6 as a minimum order.   I probably should have waited to see if u guys wanted some because the more you buy the better the deal.. Anyways Ill give it a shot and see how it goes.

C-hops (cascade, chinook, centenial etc) are american, so well-suited to the local "Terroir". I think others have had success with Nugget.

Hey all, I was busy rhizome pruning this weekend and will be bringing a bag of them to the meeting this comming weekend.  If you would like any I would suggest you bring a large ziplock baggie(s) and be ready to plant ASAP as these guys are rather scrawny and may not keep long in the fridge.
