Bringing C02 cylinder through customs

Has anybody ever bought a CO2 cylinder in the US and driven it back across the border? I'm looking at buying a new, unfilled tank and picking it up in a couple weeks. I don't want to get down there and not be able to bring it across.

As long as you have the receipt and it is not filled, should be no problem, but you could call the border help line 1-800-461-9999. I have found them helpful in the past.
