Yeast Swap - Conan for Weizen
« on: March 27, 2015, 09:09:45 AM »
Hey folks, I have some yeast saved from a Yeast Bay Vermont Ale (Conan) starter. It's about a week old.

Looking for 3068, 3463 or similar yeast for a weizen.

Sounds good... that shouldn't be a problem, eh @blisster ?

I think it would be fine, you will just have to take some time to step up the starter.

If you can wait a week, I ordered some from NG that came in within a few days, you could probably do the same if need be.

You might have to do a couple of step-up starters before pitching but I've never had a problem using old yeast (assuming it was kept refrigerated)....

Give a man a beer and he'll waste an hour, teach him how to brew beer and he'll waste a lifetime.

Hey Steve, I don't want to mess with your plans, so I can steal some from Rob. Thanks though!

Sorry I didn't explain myself. I'm brewing with the pack I have this weekend. I primary only unless aging a beer so I won't have it available for a few weeks. But if you could wait until next week NG may be able to get it in for you, it came in very quick for me.
