Everwood Ave Brew Shop - Open for Business!
« on: March 27, 2013, 10:25:56 AM »
Hi Everyone,

My name is Dave and I'm proud to announce that I've recently opened a new online brew store based out of Halifax - Everwood Ave Brew Shop (http://www.everwoodavebrewshop.com). Currently I'm offering several varieties of grains, hops and yeast and I'll soon be expanding into equipment. I'll be carrying kegs, kegerator conversion kits, faucets and accessories, stainless steel brew kettles, ball valves and fittings, yeast culturing supplies, fermentation equipment and much more. I expect to have most of these items in stock within 1-2 months.

When I started thinking about what I wanted in a LHBS I decided that the Maritimes needed something a little different. So that's what I'm doing. In order to service the need for large orders from neighbouring communities I plan on going the extra mile (literally) for those of you who can't pickup large items directly from me. This idea is that once I catch my breath from the opening I'll make a trip through NB every couple of months to deliver orders. I'll post well in advance of this trip to allow time for ppl to order online and to allow for us to coordinate pick-ups. I grew up outside of Fredericton and my family lives there, so it's no problem on my end. The purpose of this is to allow for the purchase of larger/heavier items (like full bags of grain or the stainless steel pots) without paying for expensive shipping. If we want to explore coordinating group buys of pallets of grain or bulk hops I have no problem offering you guys the same pricing we get with the Brewnosers.

There have already been comments in a different thread regarding shipping costs. Shipping for a single lb of hops is pretty high, but it's the same as a much larger order too (crazy Canada Post) . As I mentioned in that thread, I'll work with you to reduce the cost of shipping and I'm sure there will be free shipping promotions upcoming!

I'm here to serve the local community and I'm open to suggestions, ideas and comments. Please visit the website, and follow me on FaceBook and Twitter.

Thank you

David

Just a thought - what's the price break like for shipping larger weights/volumes? Some of the guys could band together their orders until they hit a sweet spot.

Sanitary fittings?  Really?  that would be great...it's quite expensive ordering them through the states.

How about stainless coil for HERMS etc?

Unfortunately that's not coming in this order. But I can definitely bring a few in for the next order. When will that be? I honestly don't know. This first order is due to arrive in about a month then it depends on how fast I sell my inventory. But, I do have a supplier for the stainless steel coils.
