Post by: brew on November 17, 2011, 06:44:53 PM
Hi folks - I have a spare ticket for the festival if anyone is interested - say half price?

I would, but I got a deadline on Monday that I'm already pulling 12-15 hour days for.

When is the festival, how much for the ticket and will you be my wing man?

So after a bit of googling the festival appears to be this weekend and it just so happens I'm free so I'll take the ticket.

the ticket is $75 cost so half is great whatever that is...

Couldn't believe the Thursday night tastings weren't sold out, at the G&M there were about 10 empty seats.
For $10 we tasted a Benromach 10 and 25, Benriach 1987, Tamdhu 8, Bunnahabhain 1997 and finished it off with a Glenrothes 30!! The 2/3ish of an ounce each of the 25 and 30 was worth the $10 just out of the bottle.
Really sweet Scottish lass from the distillery paired each with a different chocolate and guided the tasting.  Amazing stuff, I'd highly recommend these tastings next year. Talked with a couple members of the club, they say they're keeping the tasting sessions at that price  as an educational exercise.

I do appreciate the ticket Brew.  Nothing like a bit of Tequila to clean the palate.  :)
