NO LEAD Brass Fittings
« on: December 06, 2013, 11:08:36 AM »
Hey all,

So I guess there is a new code that prohibits lead in brass fittings. So by 2014, all brass will be lead free.
Figured I let everyone know, as I would assume a no lead ball valve would work just as well as SS, but cheaper...
We've already started getting the LF stuff at Eddy's, FYI

Good news.  Now, if only brass stayed as shiny as SS :D

I wonder if what they will substitute the lead with and if it would be any safer to use? The lead is there for ease of casting makes it flow better in the molds. You can always get SS ball valves from ebay for less than $6 shipping included or the two piece full port for less than $9.
