Title: Honey I Blew Up My Kidneys (Wheat)
Post by: Richard on June 14, 2012, 03:54:00 PM
Somewhat similar to the Hoegaarden clone - american wheat w/honey.

4lbs 2-row.
4lbs light wheat malt.
12oz quick oats.
12oz all purpose white flour.
8oz crystal 110
1lb honey (flameout).
0.15oz crushed coriander seed (flameout).

0.5oz Hallertauer Tradition @ 60.
0.5oz Hallertauer Mittelfrueh @ 20.

Mash 4 gallons 90mins @ 149, sparge 4 gallons.

S-05.

Note: in order to use the flour, you should mix it into a paste with cold water first. I used about half a litre of water per pound of flour... you'll need to adapt your strike temp a little upwards to compensate for the added thermal mass & termperature.

Boiling atm - smells good. Pondering coriander too... think it'd work well with the honey.
