Honey Oat Ale

Batch Info:
All grain - Stove Top BIAB
Batch Vol 11.2L
8.3% ABV
OG 1.067 FG 1.011

Grain Bill:
.92 Kg Honey Malt
.5 Kg Flaked Oat
1 Kg 6 Row
1 Kg 2 Row
.17 Kg Corn Sugar (Added @ Flame Out)
.25 Kg Honey (Added to secondary)

Hops
10g Perle (60min)
10g Cascade (30min)
10g Cascade (Flame Out)

Mash in 8.9L @152 for 90min
Dunk Sparge 11L @ 168

Preboil Gravity 1.048
Postboil 1.067

1 Tip Each of Yeast Energizer and Nutrient

Yeast
1 Pkg. Nottingham

2 weeks, rack to secondary, add honey boiled in 250ml water

Bottled 1 week later 2.5 Vols CO2

Bottle Condition 4 weeks or it will be a little hot

I thought I needed the diastic power and noble grape. Im leaving it out of version 2. Im also leaving out the corn sugar as the extra alcohol and dryness isnt required due the honey. Brew tried one and suggested I post the recipie so I wanted to put up the actual recipie vice my plan for round 2.

Yes thought this was very nice! Right you really dont need any extra diastic power with this so its easy to replace the 6row with 2row.

As an FYI our grain distributor can get 6row (sometimes) if we ask for it...

Do you know if he can get honey malt as I didnt see it on the grain order sheet and there isnt any substitute that I could find.

Sorry no honey malt. Its something you dont need much of so its easy to order online... OBK carries it...
