Cheers from Connors
« on: March 09, 2012, 07:22:51 PM »
Hello everyone! I'm from Connors, New-Brunswick (located roughly 40 minutes west of Edmundston). I'm new to the boards, and to home-brewing in general. Just got myself a copy of John J. Palmer's "How to Brew," and I can't wait to get started. My head's full of questions, and I look forwards to picking your brains about this great craft!

First steps for me right now will be to educate myself and then invest in the basic equipment.

Cheers!

Welcome aboard!  It's an obsessive hobby, but a rewarding one.  John Palmer's book is a fantastic resource.  If you have any questions, somebody here will have an answer for you.

I remember reading Palmer's first book like it was about 12 months ago ;).

It's a good book, highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't got a copy. His online version is very out of date and the new one contains a lot more information.

Also "Designing Great Beers" is a good book as well.

Hey, I'm from Grand-Falls (originally from Ste-Anne), if you want you can join me on a brew day.  It’ll give you an idea!  I just started 6 months ago and I only have 6 all grain brew under my belt but I could share with you what I know.  I have 2-3 brews planned in the next month so if it’s something that interest you shoot me a pm ;)
Cheers

Hello again, everyone! Thank you so much for the warm welcome! You guys replied really fast, it's good to know that this is an active forum. :-)

Just started my first ever batch of beer yesterday evening (one of those Brew Canada canned kits), a "Canadian Red Beer," so that's essentially an amber pale ale, correct? Got a few questions in mind, and as you may be able to suspect, I am quite anxious, and hoping everything went well, despite the fact that I can confidently say I followed the instructions as closely as I could.
