Post by: Madavascus on March 09, 2012, 07:22:51 PM: Hello everyone! I'm from Connors, New-Brunswick (located roughly 40 minutes west of Edmundston). I'm new to the boards, and to home-brewing in general. Just got myself a copy of John J. Palmer's "How to Brew," and I can't wait to get started. My head's full of questions, and I look forwards to picking your brains about this great craft!

First steps for me right now will be to educate myself and then invest in the basic equipment.

I remember reading Palmer's first book like it was about 12 months ago ;).

It's a good book, highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't got a copy. His online version is very out of date and the new one contains a lot more information.

Also "Designing Great Beers" is a good book as well.

I just started 6 months ago and I only have 6 all grain brew under my belt but I could share with you what I know. I have 2-3 brews planned in the next month so if it’s something that interest you shoot me a pm ;)

Just started my first ever batch of beer yesterday evening (one of those Brew Canada canned kits), a "Canadian Red Beer," so that's essentially an amber pale ale, correct? Got a few questions in mind, and as you may be able to suspect, I am quite anxious, and hoping everything went well, despite the fact that I can confidently say I followed the instructions as closely as I could.
