I found a very interesting article on washing yeast slurries with Chlorine Dioxide as opposed to the typical phosphoric acid.

Seems to do as good a job as acid, but retains most of the yeast's viability, unlike the acid wash.
Good read. I'd be interested to hear what Thomas has to say.

Interesting - I've not come across washing with anything other than water before.
