Title: Grain Conditioning
Post by: Brian_S on January 16, 2011, 10:30:09 AM
Hi All, I wonder if anyone has tried conditioning their grain before milling?  I was reading up on the topic and it would appear that it involves misting your grain a bit with water (.4 to .5 oz of water per pound of grain) and letting it sit for about 10 mins before milling, this seems to result in more cracked kernels rather than pulverized (as the husks now have more flexibility) and does allow you to close the gap a bit on your mill giving better mash efficiency.
