I'd like to have a lagering chamber. Leaning towards a commercial style fridge that will hold a couple or three carboys and someday a conical. Thoughts? Experiences??

On that note, just received this 17 gal conical.

I can't see you ever regretting that decision. A fridge would better than a deep freeze, as it's more strenuous to lift carboys into a deep freeze unit. You could still control it with a temp controller for precise temperatures.

If you're gonna be using that conical I think you'll want to either build a custom ferm chamber or buy a chiller from SS brewing with controller.
But thats nice. Im jealous! I wish I had about 4 of those...

I'm using this conical for ales. I was either going to use carboys in fridge or I was looking at the Brewmaster edition of the SS conicals which include a submersed coil for temp control using their FTS system. But thinking that might be a pain having to change ice so often.

My buddy and I use those, we found a couple of used fridges, that were just fridges (no freezer) and they fit well. Two light bulbs for heating and a Johnson controller works great.

Good to know! :)

Well if I had those I'd have a freezer near by and pump glycol from a reservoir inside the freezer and recirculate it through the chiller.

hmmm, good idea!! Never thought of anything like that. I've never seen a setup like that either.
