Foam...
« on: December 15, 2016, 11:40:20 PM »
So I went to pour a beer tonight off one of my 4 taps they all run off the same regulator but for some reason this one pours only foam... Anyone ever have this issue? If so what was your issue?
I purged all the pressure from that one half full keg in case it was over carbed for some reason. My co2 tank just kicked so maybe the regulator shit the bed but I imagine if that was the issue it would affect the other kegs as well. I'm confused...  :shakes:

This happened to me recently. My issue was a piece of hop debris that got lodged in the out post of the keg. Nothing but foam. I generally take my kegs apart and clean well but I had obvisouly missed this, or it got transferred with the beer from carboy and made its way up there.

I'm using sanke kegs so they work a bit differently. I don't know if hop debris could clog it. But it's worth taking a look at the only problem is I can't remove the spear with it full of beer. I'd need to empty it first.
I have a funny feeling it was something with the coupler. So I changed it last night and hopefully it was just over carbonated and I won't need to dump it...
I'll report back soon.

So I think it must have been the coupler leaking. I changed it, purged all the co2 out and today it's working fine.
That's my lesson don't buy cheap equipment...

Well I  think I spoke too soon. I just checked it and the pressure on the regulator was up to 45lbs so I think it may also be my cheap regulator. When I turn off all the valves after the regulator it just keeps climbing. Looks like I'm buying myself a new regulator for Christmas...
