My Stir Plate

I'm not sure why it would have to be, but either way, the stir plate design doesn't change so worst case scenario if the stainless stir-bar doesn't work I'll buy a stir-bar ;D

I guess the idea is that if the stir bar is magnetic as well as the stir plate, then the opposite poles will of each will make the bar spin better.  I've not tried it, but I can't find a reference to non-magnetic stir bars anywhere. I got mine on ebay for $4, and I know you can get them cheaper if you look around.

A little puzzled why you're mcgyvering your way around a $5 part... but if it's just for the lulz carry on :P
