Anywhere in fredericton where i can get 60+ feet of beer line at a reasonable price? Perlick taps should be in any day now and I want to get that set up

Noble grape has the thick walled stuff, i think someone on here mentioned there before? Kent has some but its not thick walled, i use it anyways..

Jake

Just called noble grape and he told me they only had 5/16ID beer line ... I told him that's likely gas line because beer line is either 3/16 or 1/4 inch ... he proceeded to tell me that 5/16 would work just fine if I use 6 feet of beer line

I have 5-6 feet of 1/4 inch at home and that is wayyyy to fast of a pour. 3/16 is really the only option if you're using 5 or 6 feet. I read that you need at least 15 feet of line if you're using 1/4 because it produces less resistence, so I could only imagine how much line you'd need if using 5/16 ... probably 20+ feet

FYI, if you get taps from ontario beer kegs, they give you 1/4 inch ID hose. Never realized this when I got it, until just last week, but it explains why 4 of my taps are having shitty, extremely fast pours ... and they come with 5 feet of line on each. So if you buy from ontario beer kegs, expect to change the lines to either longer 1/4 inch, or 5 or 6 feet of 3/16. ... pours wayyyyyyyyyy too fast.

You could of course reduce your pressure down to 3-4 psi to slow the pours, but that will just produce under-carbed beer ... and I can't do that because 2 of my 6 taps have 3/16, so not enough pressure.

Noble Grape once again providing very solid advice.

Or you could ask them to put the proper length of hose and ID on before they ship save time and effort of getting line elseware

When I ordered, I believe I asked about longer line, but he said that they come pre-assembled if I'm not mistaken ... definitely worth looking into though

5 feet of 1/4 inch line is completely useless though, so expect to be charged more for swapping to 3/16 if the option is available ... but well worth the hassle

yea think thats what I had on my taps and had bad pours changed to 10 feet and set to 12 PSI works like it should now

so NG is out...LOL...hate going there anyways, unless i really have to. I know when i was searching locally, only place i found with 3/16 was kent.

Jake

reasonably priced? I can get a 100ft roll from Simgo for like 40 dollars, plus shipping. I'm assuming it will be around 55 with shipping, waiting on a quote ... but the waiting aspect is what I'm not looking forward to because it ships from Ontario

yeah, it was cheap.....must of been cause i bought it(i'm cheap..lol). For some reason, 21cents a foot is sticking in my head...that might be it...but don't quote me. Its just the regular thin wall stuff though. Stuff from simgo is probably thick walled, hence the high price.

Scoop n save used to have tubing along that back wall, not sure what sizes though(i would suspect its the bigger stuff for racking/etc though and not beer line)

Jake

Made it up to kent tonight and they had the 3/16 ID hose, but way too flimsy ... I need the OD to be 7/16 for that it snugly fits the 1/2 holes I have drilled in the freezer for it's friction fit. I can get 7/16 OD from simgo whereas kent was selling 5/16.

yeah, I was hoping you'd find something locally, but when I looked last, about a year ago, there was nothing good. You can order it by the roll from a number places, I think Brew found a really cheap one.

Yeah I got mine from Simgo - I think it was 53 (maybe 59?) cents / foot after taxes and shipping for a 100' roll - great stuff though...

Yea I made an order with them yesterday morning for a 100 ft roll. 3/16ID, 7/17OD, which is good think stuff. Kent was 3/16ID 5/16OD, which would have been fine, but I needed it to be friction fit in the half inch holes I've drilled in my freezer. Should be here Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Paid 40 cents a foot, plus shipping, and the guy ballparked an estimate of around 15-18 bucks for shipping

just an FYI for anyone else, was at scoop n save today picking up a couple of kits, and the hose they have there is 5/16ID x 7/16OD for anyone interested.
