QuoteA documentary exploring the peculiar system of alcohol retail and distribution in Ontario

The beverage alcohol system in Ontario is unique in the world. A government monopoly and a few private companies enjoy preferential access to the province's consumers.

Meanwhile, over 300 Ontario breweries, wineries, and distillers face a number of bureaucratic and structural barriers that effectively shut them out of the market in Ontario.

This film tries to explain the origins of the beverage alcohol system in Ontario, and what it means for producers and consumers in the province today.

Wow, that is worse than NB!  Def worth watching!

Thanks for posting.
Give a man a beer and he'll waste an hour, teach him how to brew beer and he'll waste a lifetime.

Wow, strange to have such a dichotomy between a private/public system in the same province.

Near the end they mention growlers, however I was looking for growlers while I was in Ontario a couple years ago and I was told by a couple places that they don't offer them because it's not worth it. Maybe that has changed?
