Yeah, found that thread, no price...
The only one I just did find was this thread...

http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/stainless-steel-growler-282847/

Where some guy just spouts off at $10,
The first message posted says $34, that looks closer to right to me, but I'm still very willing to be proven wrong.
If they can be retailed for $10, I'll buy the 288 myself and sell them on ebay.

Just got off the phone with the owner of Bitter and Esters, great guy.
Talked for half an hour or so about his wait for it...30 gallon Blichmann Electric Brewery! That conversation would take us a ways OT, so I'll stick to the topic...

He doesn't have any, never has.  Doesn't know anyone who does have them for sale.
He was once quoted by a wholesaler a price for them that would have allowed him to retail them for $10 so he said what I said, I'll take a pallet load...then the invoice came in and it was for Amber Glass growlers.

He figures the retail will be between $30 and $40 when they finally do get to market.

He's asked me to post a note on HBT letting people know it's not correct.

hmm, marketing usually implies that there is an actual product to buy... thanks for finding out the situation.

I think there will be a product, but it's not to market yet.
They're building an order book before having them manufactured to maximize the profits.
I'll be interested to see how the manufacturer responds to the request for pallet pricing.

Just got a response from the manufacturer...

QuoteGreetings!

First let me apologize for taking so long to respond to you.  We were having some manufacturing issues and didn't want to make promises we couldn't follow through with.

Our pricing is based on volume.  The more you purchase, the better the price.  We are looking at annual contracts with some of our customers and that helps them boost their volume.  144 units is our minimum, so you would qualify.

For your convenience, I have attached our standard Request for Quotation.  Once we have received your completed form, we should be back to you within the week with a firm quote.

Incidentally, we just shipped our first bottles to a brewery in Portland, OR.  Overnight, they have sold approximately half of their original order!  We are all excited.

I'll send back the form and see what they have to say.

Nope never sent mine either - I got turned off by the form letter - I'd rather hold out until they are known to be shipping an actual product before trying to set something up with them. So far, its "vaporware"...

+1 what Richard said.

now, I actually would consider paying $85 for a custom hand made growler, if nothing else, for the novelty of having a unique growler.
