I would recommend getting a Rigid cordless drill from home depot it has a power selector switch that gives more torque at a slower speed and a high speed for everyday use. Its a great drill and the fact that it comes with a lifetime guarantee on both the drill and battery it was a no brainer for me.
So I got the Rigid 5 pack with the big carry case maybe 5 or 6 years ago now. Hammer drill, recip, impact, light and skill saw. The warranty is genuine, I've had the drill fixed once (by the guys in Hartland who do all work for Home Depot / Rigid), and replaced each of the two batteries once already. No charge... the first battery I got replaced they even gave me an upgrade to the newer fancy battery with the charge checking light...

You have to make sure if you buy the Rigid stuff and want the LSA, you need to fill all the requirements (UPC code and receipt mailed in within 90 days I think, among a few other things, like registering on their web site). If you dont do _everything_ correctly you only get 3 years warranty (happened to my fathers drill, but they did replace a battery just before year 3 ended).

That drill at CT looks like a great find! thanks for posting I'm going to pick one of those up...

I've been using a drill I never had a use for - piece of crap black and decker single speed 1200 rpm 3A. I don't seem to have troubles sparging though...

Rigid Drills.....home depot worker convinced me to go rigid instead of another brand because of the lifetime warranty on the drills and batteries....Unfortunately I didn't get around to filling out the registration cards and all that.

long story short, within the year, the triggers on both drills became faulty, and neither battery would hold a charge any longer.  Total duds, and they won't replace them.

Lessons learned, fill out the registration....BUT, if these bloody things have a lifetime warranty, would not just replace them, no matter who bought the damn things....

You should try to keep the mill running around 300rpm.

I bet you'll find a much better crush if you slowed that down a bit Chris.

Major bummer sorry to hear about that fakr. If your drill is less than 3 years old you should register them on the web site as all rigid drill get the 3 year replacment warranty. if home depot in moncton is giving you a hard time its time to raise holy hell. I have to say i love my drill / recip /skill saw, lots of power and smooth...
