Hey Guys,

I ordered this stainless steel pot through home hardware... $69.99... its 50 L so its huuuuge. Hopefully you can see the picture

I just tested it out for boiling... takes up 2 burners, but I got a decent boil in about 30 mins for 5 gallons of water.

I am looking to attach my weldess bulkhead valve so will need to drill through the pot.. I know you guys will suggest one of those step drill bits (which I dont have) but is there any way I could drill using a regular bit?

Kyle

if the guage of the pot is thin, then maybe you could drill a pilot hole and then use a hole saw

We've talked about a club toolkit, maybe it's time we start investigating that idea again.

A Proper hole punch for the bigger sizes and a step drill for the smaller sizes would be a good idea.

The step drill would have to come with cutting oil, though I understand that Olive Oil will work as well.

Soldering gear might be a good idea too.

People could bring what they want to meetings, and one of the more experienced modifiers in the club could help them out, before the beer starts flowing.

Maybe I'll start a thread on tool purchases.

I did a DIY bulkhead. It wasn't pricey at all...I think maybe 25$ per pot (bought 2 pots).

Granted, I really suggest getting a step bit, or going to a shop to get it cut. I used a metal grinder to try and smooth the edges and it just didn't work well.

Other than that, they're amazing pots.
