Ha. I will not be boycotting cans.

I'm a firm believer in supply and demand. I think those principles should apply to employment. I would love to know what the workers were making and what they are demanding.

And, the simple fact of this is that a misguided boycott of cans is only going to hurt the beer producer.

Hell, I'd drink beer out of a mini sip bag if thats how it was being served.

However after reading the article, I can understand the employees plights. Not being able to come to an agreement on wages, especially after the company CEO is getting a 12 million a year compensation package.  :o

Yes, I agree that the situation is outrageous and these people are being treated unfairly.  What I don't like is that the article doesn't mention who is buying these cans made by this one can company.  Specifically it is Molson, Labatt, Coors, Budweiser, Moosehead, Creemore, but the article is saying to boycott cans entirely.  And, as @Two Wheeler said, who is this boycott really hurting?

This is about labor relations rather than beer. I don't think most here on the forum would be drinking macro-in-a-can anyways.

It is about labour relations, but it is also now about beer, and about craft beer in cans too.  The article doesn't say anything about which breweries are using their cans in it's call for an all-out beer can boycott.  This has the potential to hurt the craft breweries canning their beers, even if their beer cans are coming from elsewhere.
