Just read in the paper this morning.

I can grab one for the weekend if anyone's interested!
Edit: NM, big tide isn't set up yet, just have permission.
Still.....something to think of for another meeting!
I wonder if they'll fill any growler :?:
Nope.
Bottles need to be properly labelled for retail sale. Growlers still fall under that rule. Most brewpubs "sell" you refillable growlers.
mine are already 'labelled'...just from other breweries :D
which would be misrepresentation of product. Big no no :P
oh well, their loss in beer sales i would think....
Better than Govm't fines that'd be out of this world.
Most breweries you buy the one growler and just keep bringing it back for refills. This is legal since its their labelled bottle. You pay the deposit of a growler, and keep refilling it. Hence the "sell" I mentioned.
i understand what you're saying, but i'd much rather buy more beer than collect growler jugs at $9 a pop.
I have 3 growlers already, i'd much rather spend 27 and have them all filled, rather than spend 18 and only get one.
but leave it to our gov't....one week there's a beer sale, next week the prices go up.
9$??? :O
I got a gallon one for $5.50 yesterday. Must've got a deal :D
yeah, picaroons charges $9 to fill, and $9 for the growler...and its not so much a deposit as you can't return the jug and get your money back...so the growler is yours.
those one gallons are different...they can't fill them....and yes, they're cheaper to buy.
Ahhh gotchya
well that sucks. Wonder if the brewpubs will do the same policy :/
most likely yes.....it comes down to the liquor license...which in this case is for 64oz bottles(growler)...so if you go in with a one gallon, they wouldn't be allowed to fill em.
No I mean the re-using of bottles.
I;d rather just buy one with Big tides label and refill as needed than rebuy a new one every time :/
yeah....all the growlers are re-usable, well should be anyways.....the whole concept of the growlers...more environmental friendly n stuff. :D You won't have to buy new everytime.
i just wish all breweries would fill any growler, regardless of what name is on the side of the bottle to make things easier.
thats the way it works you bring the growler back each time you go to big tide and exchange it for a full one
the first one is usually more expensive than the rest
