I've been wanting to do a black IPA lately. Can somebody suggest a really good recipe?
Richard had a really good recipe from our tour of Picaroons.
+1, he had three versions of it, I think. The first one was outstanding, I'll look for the link.
+1 to Richard's Black IPA V1. VERY tasty.

Thanks guys. I'll give this a go.
Yeah Richard's black IPA's are quite tasty :). Kyle's black IPA is quite tasty too. Although it's gone *pout* ;D.
Aye; V1 was the best :)
(Thanks guys :D)
Wasn't that really V1.1, since V1 got renamed Hoppy Porter??
Speaking of which, I'll have some of the famous Hoppy Porter at the meeting saturday, it will have had 10 days of Simcoe Dry Hopping done by then.

Having a glass of black IPA (richard's v1 recipe) as i'm writing this. Pressure fermented and naturally carbonated to perfection on day 7.
Delicious Richard!
All my buddies agree this is the most memorable recipe of all the beers i've made.
Slight twist with this batch...ran out of magnum so substituted with an equal amount of citra.
Bloody delicious, but not sure yet if its as good as with magnum.

Nah they're talking about Black Like Your Heart... Hoppy Porter was before I got hold of carafa-special :)
