Title: Mosaic Hops
Post by: robcoombs on September 23, 2014, 11:55:31 AM
I just finished putting together a recipe for a DIPA and I was really hoping to use some Mosaic hops but NG doesn't have any. I know this is a long shot but does anyone have a few ounces they can part with? I'll buy, trade whatever.

I don’t have some but I’ve used it in my last saison and man, what a fantastic hop!

That's what I keep hearing. Is there anything you would sub in for it @jamie_savoie (http://nbcba.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1182) ? My recipe had simcoe, falconer's flight and mosaic. So I was planning on increasing the other two hop additions if I can't get any mosaic.

mosaic is a descendant of simcoe and nugget.  I’ve never used FF but from what I understand it’s a blend of the 7 “C” hops. Mosaic has more tropical and is less piny as compared to simcoe, so maybe a 50/50 blend of simcoe/citra (even though there’s some in FF) for the extra tropical character mosaic would’ve done

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take your advice and sub in some citra.
