I thought I'd post a quick PIC of this years progress.

Mine are still snugly in the ground...we are a couple weeks behind in all things gardening up here!

Had mine in 5gal buckets, tarped over under the deck for the winter.

Dug them all out yesterday, 2 Chinook, 1 Golding, and 1 Fuggles are getting nice starts (need to go in the ground this year though), the other 2 Mt. Hood, which didn't grow much last year (think I handled them too roughly last year when I transplanted them) don't look to be doing much of anything. Going to leave them for a week or so in the sun to see if anything pops up.

If not I have 2 new Centennial and 2 new Citra to take their place if need be!

I have some "wild" hops growing at our place. We moved here almost 30 years ago and there were hops on the vine back then, I've added some to kit beer over the years. I don't have any idea what variety they are, I've been told people used to use them in making bread... maybe sourdough..not sure. Our house is 140 or so years old, so I have no Idea how old this vine is. I'm hoping to rehab it this summer, but i see no sign of it yet though. If I get enough this fall I plan to do a one hop APA Or IPA with them.
I would like to plant some new hops, any recommendations on good places to purchase rhizomes?

That would be some bitter bread! I know they were used as a mild sedative for sleeping. They would make a small pillow and stuff it full of hops and it would help you sleep. At least so I've read.
If your interested I'd like to trade you some rhizomes of cascade and/or Hersbrucker for some of the wild ones.

absolutely, I would love to do a trade. The hops are in an overgrown area, i've cleared away most of the brush etc, but to complicate matters there's an ivy type vine taking over the same area, that at this stage is hard to tell from hops. I'm going to try to isolate them once they leaf out, then try to cut some rhizomes....probably next spring.

Ummm Hops.....just to chime in on the bread making part.  Hops were used back in the day for the yeast starter, you would boil a potatoe with a handful of hops until the potatoe dissolves then strain the liquid into a jar and leave it in a warm place after a few days the yeast colony was deemed large enough to make bread with.  One of the same reasons we brew with them....go figure.

Wait, what citra? Where did you find a citra rhizome?

Nah, been mixing that one up, supposed to be Cascade, not Citra
