Title: Golden hops
Post by: TomFogarty on May 09, 2012, 11:50:19 PM
So I took a trip out to the local flower nursery today to look for some hops and they only carry Golden hops. Picked up a plant for fun but I've never heard of it before.... Looked up Golden hops on Homebrew Talk but I'm getting a lot of different opinions (half the people love them, half say they're a waste of time)

Anyone have any input here? I figure I'd grow anyway, what's the worst that could happen!

Were they called Bianca Gold?

Amarillo Gold... Bianca Gold... East Kent Goldings... I'm seeing a trend here...

... regardless it's not some re-naming, it's an ornamental hop (yay Google), so my guess is that it's pretty low on AA. That said if it smells good you might be able to use it in a dry-hop, who knows :)
