Flame-out hops vs. dryhopping
« on: August 23, 2014, 10:00:56 AM »
I plan to aggressively dry-hop an IPA, is there anything to be lost by cutting back or eliminating the flameout hops?

I'd say some flavour and some aroma (If by FO you mean you pitch you’re hops as soon as you stop the boil)

Personally I think every hop addition adds something - that said I have accidentally forgotten 3 and 0 minute hops before and didn't notice a lot missing. I wouldn't skip it on purpose though, the taste is a bit different than a dry hop and I miss it when its not there... thats just me though...
