Is there a big difference in dry hopping with pellet hops rather than leaf?

Flavour/aroma wise - not really; convenience wise - absolutely. Whole leaf is a PITA to get in and out of the carboy.

Put those hops in the secondary, wait a week, and they'll all drop out.  I've done it many times.
