Title: Pearl

Have you ever used Pearl malt before?  I have been looking for a Heady Topper IIPA clone recipe and several of them indicate that Pearl is used rather than 2-Row.

Pearl is just a branded pale-ale malt, similar to Maris Otter but slightly less melanoidin rich.

you can get pretty close by going with either:

about 70% MO
and 30% 2-row

or:
90% 2-row
10%Vienna

I prefer option #2, personally

That'd be due to his love affair with Vienna... incase anyone didn't know ;D.

yes... I find Vienna malt very appealing in terms of adding sweetness, hint of caramel and and a bit of roundness to the body without being overwhelming. At a 9:1 ratio of 2-row to vienna, it can mimick marris otter to a reasonable extent.

I have a full bag of Vienna on the grain order.
