Need crystal 120 and to rarified wheat
« on: June 11, 2013, 10:46:25 PM »
I am going to try my first all grain brew next week and am short 1kg crystal 120 and 1.5 kg of terrified wheat. If anyone has some to sell I would appreciate it.  Also, where is the best place to buy hops. I need 4 different types so was going to go to noble grape.

I can't really help with the grain, but what do you need for hops?

Actually, looking at my supply I dont have much for C120, but I do have some extra Cararoma which is the Weyermann almost equivalent. I think Cararoma is a little closer to C130 but I've subbed it before as a replacement for C120 and it seemed to work pretty well. I can spare the 1.5kg... Don't have any tortured wheat though. If you're interested in the cararoma you can pick it up when you come to get your grain...

On the Crystal...If you are looking for the 110L (240), can't help. If you're looking for 40L (110) then I can slip you in to the split that happens today for a tenth of that.
On the Torrified Wheat side IIRC, our supplier doesn't offer that.
There's  a youtube link on how to make it using a popcorn maker, which for this small an amount may well be doable.

Well I called Noble Grape Burnside location and eneded up ordering th torrified wheat and all the hops.  They were just finishing loading the pallet up so I figured better safe than sorry.  Chris, thanks for the offer and Brew, I will see you tomorrow.  Great forum/association guys.
