Washed Wyeast 1968
« on: February 07, 2011, 11:18:19 AM »
So after looking at the washed wyeast 1968 John provided at the last meeting, I noticed it had a very low number of yeast cells. Wyeast 1968 is not very floccuant, and is best top cropped for re-use. So to those of you using the jars that were brought, you will need to make up a starter with the washed yeast to ensure you have enough cells to begin fermentation. I have cleaned it up and streaked out a few plates, so we will have it in the culture collection in a few weeks.

I thought 1968 was one of the most flocculant ale strains?
