Title: Ring in the new year with...
Post by: Hawoh on December 31, 2011, 12:21:04 PM
What will you choose to toast the new year?

1. A home brew (which one?)
2. A commercial brew (which one?)
3. Champagne
4. Other

I haven't decided myself yet, but I'm probably going to ring in the year with a commercial beer, possibly Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp

I recently kegged a batch of my chokecherry wine and carbed it to have sparkling wine. It quite dry and lends itself well to bubbles :mrgreen:

Going to a house full of arts students who spent half the night telling me I needed to open a brewery last time I went over with growlers of my stock... I think that settles it pretty well ;)

Chimay Blue huh? that sounds nice. The Fullers Vintage sounds good too.

For the homebrew: I'll probably open some Barley Wine (Bigfoot Clone), some Russian Imperial Stout and maybe a few others;
For commercial: Leffe Brune, Rochefort 10, Sierra Nevadas (Torpedo, Pale Ale, Celebration);
For Wine: Whatever is in my basement. I have a bunch of average $15 bottles
For bubbly: I have a fizzy Banrok Station Chardonnay
Probably some scotch too - Cadenhead Lowland, maybe some Calvados too.

Got a couple of Growlers due to depleting stock of home brew.  Picaroons's Feels Good and Yippee.  Once those are gone it'll be home brew ESB.

Already feeling pretty good :)

Happy New Year everyone!

I had a bottle of that when I was at Garrison's last. Tasty, but there was a serious aceto malt vinegar streak running through the middle of it. Bloody excellent with the seafood I had mind.
