Hey everyone!
We're looking to host a pub night/newbie meet and greet on November 10th at the James Joyce. James Joyce is having a tap take over with every brewery in NB so I thought it would be a good opportunity for us to get together. This is open to anyone and everyone so feel free to spread the words to friends, family or coworkers.
I'd like to get rough numbers by Wednesday so that I can call in and maybe get a table set aside if enough people are interested and plan food/snacks. You can RSVP on this thread or the facebook event page.
If you have any suggestions or feedback for something you'd like to do/see, just let me know. I wouldn't mind having some pamphlets/cards if someone has the hookup for those.
Also a quick note, because this is at a commercial venue we cannot bring homebrew. If you're really determined we could discuss a small bottle swap before/after if you're really looking for some feedback.

I'll be there

if i can make it down, i'll bring some Clawhammer to trade up if anyone else is game for a swap

Richard Weaver-Bennet and I will be there.

I'm getting ready to call and make the reservations. If you're thinking of coming or you're on the fence just let me know.
Right now we have around 12ish but the facebook group has 14 people interested and the event got a few shares on facebook/twitter so I'm thinking that number could go way up or way down, haha.

I have to cancel, sorry.
I was very much looking forward to this but a family emergency just came up so off to NS instead. :shakes:

What time does this thing start?

I had it set for 6 but I think we're flexible. What time works best for everyone?
-
As long as its not before 6, I'm good.

Personally I'm tied up until about 8pm

They aren't taking reservations because its an event night and they expect it to be busy. I'm going to aim to be there around 5:30 to secure a table. Even if no one shows up for awhile I got no problem smashing pints by myself :drink:
I have this faint memory of these little NBCBA posters we made years ago. Does anyone maybe have one? If not I'm just going to write on a piece of paper so people can identify me.

Same here. SWMBO has other plans. I might try to squeeze out of the house when she gets back.

It was nice to see everyone last night, had a lot of great beer. It would have been nice to get some newbies out but oh well.
Moving towards the future, I think having it at the James Joyce on an event night like the NB tap take over had its pros and cons. The pros were that the beer selection was amazing and it show cased how many people from the club have gone professional. The cons were that it was too busy and I got a little dicked around for a table by the staff. We'll probably do this again in the new year but I think we'll look at having it somewhere a little more calm like Trailway so we can actually discuss beer and have a place to sit.
I'd like to hear everyones opinions both by people that showed up and people that didn't.
