Title: Books
Post by: Richard on February 23, 2011, 10:49:52 PM: Ok guys. It's been suggested (er... by me), that we get some books for the club to form some kind of library. The only one I can really stand behind for technique so far is "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing" (although I've read a couple of other ones and wasn't entirely impressed).

I'm currently reading "Beer is Proof God Loves Us", which is an insider account of the beer industry over the last couple of centuries (he wasn't inside for the whole two centuries, but he's still alive now, do the math :P). The guy has some opinions (i.e. potentially contentious ones), but I think most people in the club would find it of interest.

The john palmer book was pretty helpful for me when starting out.

Post by: HappyHax0r on December 30, 2011, 11:19:21 AM: The newest rev of John Palmer's book is awesome and contains considerably more information than the website version. I have it but it's currently out on loan to a friend who I'm trying to get interested in all-grain brewing ;).

Post by: JohnE on February 09, 2012, 10:39:38 PM: I have "brew like a monk" and "Wild Brews: Culture and Craftsmanship in the Belgian Tradition". Also there is a third book in this series called "Farmhouse Ales". I'll bring all three with me to the next meeting.

I'v been collecting beer books in the last year, and have about 30 of them right now, and there are still quite a few more I want. I'll bring some of them over a number of different meetings so people can see them decide if its worth it for the club to buy them for the club library.
