I had a great day on Sunday brewing at Big Tide Brewery. Wendy (Brewmaster) invited my friend Carl and I to brew with her this past Sunday. We started at 6:30am (left Fredericton at 5:00am). She has a 6 hectolitre (~5 barrel) DME system. We brewed a Stout. My first 600 litre batch ;-) This is a picture of me pitching the yeast.

lucky....always wanted to ask her if she did brew days :)
-
Yes it was very fun! She basically explained how to use the system and let us do everything from start to finish. Four full size garbage cans of spent grain is heavy! It is much hotter in the brewhouse than one might think.

Very cool! nice looking setup!
you metioned it is a DME system...can you explain? I at first thought she uses nothing but DME, then you metioned spent grain.

DME is the manufacturer's name for the brewing equipment.
-
ah jesus....I should have googled it. I was thinking dry malt extract.
-
:-) DME make brewery equipment and they are based in PEI.

yeah, if I remember correctly, one of my dad's friend's sons works for them. He works with automated controls. I'll have to get more information from him.
Nice products!

Yes, both Wendy (Big Tide) and Shawn (Picaroons) have commented that they have a quality product.
