Title: Beer Across Provincial Borders

This was from about a month ago...   I will no longer be a criminal each time I come back from NS or Quebec  :cheers:

"New changes announced today by the Federal Government will allow people to buy beer and spirits in provinces where they don’t live and bring them home for personal use."

this will hurt nbliquor alot.  around here anyway
you should see people at the border filling up their car with cases of 24 lol

Doesn't this have to pass provincial legislation before it comes into effect?

This was a federal law so nothing to do with the provinces..

If importing for commercial use (to resell), then it has to go through the provincially regulated laws...

I don't think this will change much honestly... This antiquated law (from post prohibition) never stopped many people from bringing beer in from Quebec... It was never really enforced, It certainly never stopped me  :rock:

Cool, but don't see this doing much to nb liquor.  It was one of those laws that nobody seemed to care about - similar to transporting homebrew. I know, personally, I would always bring beer back from Quebec even though it was technically against the law

Would have been nice if they had decided not to hear it, because then the decision would have reverted back to the original lower court decision and it would be all over with.

The fact that they are going to hear it, give a chance of them overturning it. Albeit a small chance one would think/hope.
