Garrison Belgian Beer Tasting
« on: February 17, 2012, 12:13:02 AM »
Well they had some good beer at the tasting. Here is the list:

- Dogfish Head Ta Henket (4.5%)
- Maredsous Brune (8%)
- Rochefort Trappistes 6 (7.5%)
- Rochefort Trappistes 8 (9.3%)
- Rochefort Trappistes 10 (11.3%)
- Westmalle Tripel (9.5%)
- Chimay White Label (8%)
- Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza (8%)
- Victory V12 (12%)
- Unibroue Quatre Centieme (7.5%)
- Inubroue Terrible (10.5%)
- Unibroue Don de Dieu (9%)
- Unibroue Trois Pistoles (9%)
- Ephemere Cassis (5.5%)
- Ephemere Pomme (5.5%)
- Fruli Strawberry (4.1%)

My favorites - Rochefort Trappistes 6, Chimay Wite Label, Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza and Ephemere Pomme. Was not a fan of the Dogfish Head Ta Henket (smelled like tuna, seriously).

It was a great way to spend a Wednesday evening ;-) This is why I didn;t come to the cask opening this evening.

I would like to have gone to that but I could make it out... sounds like it turned out well though.

The Jolly Pumpkin was an off the menu special.

I would have joined you guys last night, but I was drinking with Esty. JohnQ stopped by our table for a bit.

What did you think of the Don de Dieu, that is among my favourite Belgian-style beers. It sure doesn't taste like its 9% abv

JQ - Yes indeed he does exist, I have sampled Belgians twice now with John :-)

Kyle - Don de Diue is a very good beer indeed!
