$45,000 - nice, but not that nice. Also, why is the fermenter that close to a heated vessel?

well, I can say for a fact that John's setup, when complete, will surpass that setup, and he didn't spend no 45K either.

I can't believe that setup is 45K and can only produce 14 gallons at a time...

Yeah, that system is only a bit nicer than the Sabco "Brew Magic" (love the name) and the Sabco is like $8,000. That's what the kid in Dalhousie/Charlo has.

ah, Shiretown...I got confused when I read "Kid" as there are 2 of them and they are both well in their 30s.

I also don't think they have a full Sabco setup.  Tim, one of the two, is a certified pressure fitter and welder.  he's kept me up to date on the brite tanks etc that he's custom fabricated himself.  I even asked him if he would consider custom fabricating gear for me or anyone else, and he's just too flat out busy with a full time job and running the brewery.

How the flying feck do they warrant $45k?

My thoughts exactly...

Looking at the picture, they have a control box, 3 pots, 1 fermenter and 1 brew stand...

So 6 pieces of gear @ 45k  makes an average price of $7500 per piece.

Seriously, WTF?

Just to clarify the comparison to the Original Posting is a ~45k system and the Sabco Brew Magic is an ~8k system that is similar.
Shiretown upgraded the size of the kettles and other things to automate so it's no longer the out-of-the-box turnkey Sabco system it once was. Didn't want to sound disrespectful using the word "kid", I couldn't think at the time.

They are.  I think all they offer is a blonde, not a particularly good one if I recall correctly.
