New Brew Set-up
« on: June 12, 2014, 03:32:02 PM »
My dad's new brew set-up here. Finally making the jump to All grain BIAB from partial mash. He wanted to brew in the basement to avoid carrying the full kettle downstairs, so went with the 1800 W induction burner. The pot is the 10 gal tall boy from OBK, which seems like really good quality, and obviously is plenty big. Burner also seems like really good quality. Similar set-up to @pliny I believe.

I'm quite interested to know how the Induction burner works, how quick it boils etc.

Me too Jordan, I will definitely report back on that.

@DandyMason Looks nice and clean. You definitely have the right idea with a tall/slim kettle. Cool!

Me as well, as I have the 8gal pot from OBK and it won't work on the induction burner on my stove, despite it being a SS pot (not all SS is magnetic I know).

Matters not anyway, as the propane burner I got works well, and not putting all the moisture into the house.

You can always get a disk to use between the induction element and the kettle.
